Boo Hoo! 
My blog stats are on the decline! I don’t know why! I don’t write obscene stuff. I don’t write politically explicit articles, I’m a decent guy who blogs on decent topics, no racism, no porn and definitely no slander! Well, almost no slander! 
But still, this is very depressing news… What do I do? I can’t afford scantily-clad cheerleaders, nor can I offer free beer to all my visitors! All I can do is hope and pray that people read what I write. I wish I were one of those noble souls who aren’t bothered with blog stats… Sigh…
Maybe what I can do is offer free advice and great ideas to everyone who visits me and leaves a comment. Just like Calvin! But I won’t charge them. I’m not as good a businessman as Calvin. Sigh, again…
One more thing I can do is to change my wordpress theme. I’ve been using this theme for god knows how long, and maybe people are bored of seeing it. The same old header image (non-customizable, Grrr..!!), the same old font, the same sidebar and the same old boring topics!
Oh yeah, maybe I should start blogging about some socially volatile topics like abortion and child molestation and dangerously declining blog stats! (grin)
Actually, when it comes to such topics, I’m as opinionated as a doorknob. So, I’ll just continue to write about my same old boring life, the quirks I come across, the instances of stupidity and the complete lack of judgment, which often leads me perilously close to being a boring, old hag. Damn! My life is pathetically predictable!

My advice is to use a lot more tags in you entries…there are a lot of “blog surfers” out there who will find you if you let them know what to search for!

Nikhil, I think it might have to do with the fact that this URL is new! So the Google might not have given it a good ranking till_now. Changing the blog urls so often will have the effect of reducing the number of visitors that arrive at your blog, thanks to Google Search.
Just keep blogging about whatever that you like and I’m sure your blog will be up and bouncing in no time at all.
And believe me, hits are not that important. It’s better to have readers who comment- which you already do

Every blog has its tipping point. But yes, to gain maximum hits you have to write something current…which people want to read. If I check the stats of my blog, the maximum hits come from Movie Reviews.
And, you can also visit Digg to check whats in.
There I have told you a big secret.

It will pick on its own. Trust me.Use some good number of tags so that blog surfers can reach you. And aanyways your present stats aren’t bad either.
And you can even change your wordpress theme.

correct me if I am wrong, but you’ve been blogging for just a couple of months right? Well, it takes time to build up the blog stats. And in any case, I would say that stats have this alarming way to going steeply up and then down down down!
Don’t look at them and Ruhi’s advise is sound.
However even getting attached to comments can be disheartening and I have learnt that from experience. At times one gets loads of comments and at times one doesn’t…it doesn’t reflect on the quality of your post. At times people don’t have time to read either a long or a serious post and therefore they don’t comment. Also at times a person makes a controversial comment and then people immediately reply to it and that increases the comment count. Or at times one may get into an interesting conversation with a pal on a blog…which again increases the comment count.
My feeling is that write good stuff, and feel satisfied inside.

as ruhi said hits doesn’t matter as long as u have regular readers which u have plenty .
but if u still want hits try posting on things which ppl like …. keep the headings attractive …which is the most important thing for getting a better search ranking ..use the post slug opiton while writng a post ….

and after everyone has had their say i do..
i was reading the comments and tried to figure what i can help me…don’t worry man..when i was in blogger for over 11/2 years i had only about 5000-6000…i changed to wordpress in feb and it is better…but well i believe in writing for myself…and the topics i post on are usually poems and philosophy…:) your blog is damn good to say the least…what ever you do don’t lose your originality…:)
now i am an ass talking like that…i mean like what do hits do anyway? i think a slap is better?esp if it is by bhajji??

Never write to please anyone else because it is just not possible to please everyone. Remember you can please some of the people all the time and all the time some times but you can never please all the people all the time. So write for yourself. Let good quality writing be the first and foremost thing in your entry. Everything else will automatically fall in place.
