India has always been a very conservatively-confused country. No, that didn’t sound right. Let me try that again. India has always been a country with conservatively-confused people in power. Yeah, that sounds about right. Don’t get me wrong – I’m a politically-neutral, wardrobe-indifferent, optically-challenged, mentally-blessed, verbally-strong guy – but some things that these politicians do just baffles me and makes me want to stand them in the middle of a crowd, strip them naked and laugh at them all day long, like Nelson in the Simpsons, “Haw! Haw!”
Every sport needs cheerleaders – not only to please the weary sportsmens’ eyes, but also to appease the gawkers and the single men (and certain women!) in the crowd. Indian politics is very insecure when it comes to scantily dressed cheerleaders waving away those frillies in the air and showing off their generously endowed ..er.. wardrobe! (Does that sound right!?)
They allow these lovely cheerleaders to flaunt themselves one day and the next, they are banned and are ordered to “Cover up or Pack up!” The next day, they’re back, doing what they do best! Isn’t this a bit insane? Sticking to a decision is the hardest thing any Indian politician can do, and especially when it comes to near-naked dancing beauties, I’m not surprised by the vacillation! 😀
After all, who wants to watch a game of football or cricket without the goddesses of ..er.. (F)rock dancing and cheering the home side on? No wonder they charge entertainment taxes on game tickets nowadays! 😀
I know a lot of people wouldn’t have an opinion on this issue, but I just had to get it out – can’t hold back political jokes anymore! We’ve crossed the line! 🙂
Haw! Haw!
I was very sure at one point of time that Maharashtra Govt will end up having bar girls as cheerleaders. Thankfully that didn’t happen. But recently I saw a match in Chennai, and the cheerleaders were fully covered except for the arms. 😐 Quite disappointing. 😦
” I’m a politically-neutral, wardrobe-indifferent, optically-challenged, mentally-blessed, verbally-strong guy ”
Whoa !! :O How do you make up such stuff ? Really.
These politicians poke their nose into such issues when they should actually be thinking of ways to save the government.
Cricket has become more than just a sport now. Its like a reality television show! I feel the cheer-leaders too, should have their share of the cake ! The way politicians try to handle every issue is insane !
I saw in some news channel that they were deciding to make Indian bar-dancers cheer in the IPL matches. Can you believe that ?? :O Yuck !
Haw! Haw!
@Amit
I know! That’s the heights of insanity!! 😀
And yeah, Chennai’s always been the conservative capital of this country!! Politicians there cover their eyes too (with sunglasses!), if u know what i mean! 😉
@Priya
I wasn’t drunk when I came up with those lines! That’s the truth… 🙂
And yeah, bloody politicians! Do they think ppl are gonna vote for them if they dis-allow the cheerleaders!!?? 😀
And bar dancers, huh? I’m sure vijay mallaya is behind that one!! 😉
Yep..no opinion abt this issue..i dont watch cheerleaders or IPL 😀 ….
ya the politicians are so confused…like well someone first tell them to cover up on all their work!! the inflation is rocking! or rather eating all the food and watching the cricket with its masters? maybe they are scantilly clad because clothes have become costly? and so many people in our country need clothes…tell them to bother about that…hell these people are hypocrites!
HEH! HEH! HEH!
i’m not from your country, but cheerleaders are global, aren’t they? 😉
haw! haw! I can’t think of anything right now. Cheerleaders are dancing in front of my eyes. 😛
@ Yaake- The politicians in India are total vellas…..they don’t have anything to do apart from pointing out errors in everything they see…..if they can object to an innocent kiss of a man who has contributedd a lot to AIDS fund (read Richard Gere) they can do anyhthing…….so keep on with your Nelson style and read what Raj Thackeray the biggest jerk has to say and prove your friend fruity’s point- THAT ALL POLITICIANS ARE VELLAS…
God I am always right!!!
bah….. bah… haw! haw!
fruity 🙂
@allirekha
I knew it!! 😀
@vishesh

@Suda
Be decent, brother! 😀
@Fruity
When are u ever wrong!? After all, you and me are the most likely to have the same random thought, remember? 😉
These politicians are absolute vellas! I’d go one stop further and call them Pochugachaas!! 😀
haw! haw!

Every Other Guy in India seems to be talking about Cheerleaders these days! 😀 😀
India has always been a country with conservatively-confused people in power
– I shud also say very rude and aggressive behavior too.
When live in together and small shorts and jeans doesn’t matter for big ppl’, why bother something which nothing matters to them.
Its a boost for men atleast to fall in and out from their heart many times in dreams.
Did you change your template again?
As far as the cheerleaders go, I had no idea y’all had them! So much for my world view.
If the ladies want to cheer, why shouldn’t they? But at the same time, I’d cheer if they decided they were too good for cheering. Dose that make sense?
Politicians please the public to be re-elected. But behind closed doors, they are oggling the cheerleaders. I don’t trust too many politicos.
Two Faced and Two Timing … an apt description for our politicians … The same guys who oppose cheerleading will be exploiting women in other ways. Pay the guy money and next day he’ll talk about how professional they are..
Yeah, strip the politicians, put them on donkeys and parade them….but not naked please! 🙂
@Priya
yeah, as if the news networks in the world have stopped working!! 😀
@Pria
Very true… However, it sounds even more true when u replace the word “hearts” with the word “pants”..!! 😀
@mariacristina
Yeah, i changed the template again and this time, its here to stay! I like this one way too much! 😀
And yes, we do have cheerleaders, imported from the Washington Red Skins!! beat that!! they were paid like 3.5 million to come perform here!! hahaha… and these politicians are like dirty monkeys..! 😀
@Vijay
That’s where Tehelka is doing a good job in exposing most of these assholes! 😀
@Nita
Point taken! I really really don’t wanna see them naked!! 😀
you are tagged 🙂
@Vishesh
Thanks man! I’m doing it now! 😀
well written. Stri p them or parade them, they are going to be same ol..same ol… lol
@xylene
hehehe… yeah… but i’m not sure if i wanna see them naked… in my josh, i wrote it down in the post, but i dunno if i really wanna see withered old politicos naked!! 😀
those cheerleaders are steaming hot! if i could pause live television i’d be taking a lot more breaks between the matches.
@aniche
touche’…!! 😀
“to appease the gawkers and the single men (and certain women!) in the crowd. “????????? Only single men??????? U mean the married guys turn blind eye to the spectacle? I dont think so!!
“I know a lot of people wouldn’t have an opinion on this issue”??? How presumptuous!!! There are many bloggers who posted on the issue including me.
@Reema
You don’t like me very much, do u!?? 😀
Oh come on..if the comment is not praising u or ur post then u think the reader doesnt like u. again being presumptuous are we? but to console u..if i had not liked ur blog(does ur blog = u??) i wouldn’t have spend time reading so many posts n commmenting right?
